Title: Restoring Our Aboriginal Roots (ROAR) — A Healing Program for Men Impacted by the Legacy of Sexual & Physical Abuse in Residential Schools including Intergenerational Impacts
Project Description:
Restoring our Aboriginal Roots (ROAR) is an innovative healing program
with a community awareness component for Aboriginal people who are
Residential School Survivors and/or have been impacted by the Legacy
and intergenerational impacts of Sexual and Physical Abuse in
Residential school.The program primarliy focuses on the resolution of
unresolved trauma from sexual and physical abuse in residential schools
for male survivors and the multigenerational trauma resulting directly
from the sexual and physical abuse in the residential schools.
This project will offer three four-week healing programs, two one-week refresher programs, two three-week youth programs and a one-week frontline leadership program. The project will also provide pre-care and aftercare support to participants and their families.
