Title: 'To awaken and create support to address loss and build our future'
Project Description:
Mathias Colomb First Nation Health Authority addresses the legacy of Physical and Sexual Abuse in Pukatawagan through the education and training of Elders and adult women and men who have attended Residential School. The goals of the project are to:
a) Educate community members (open invitation) through workshops and
training about the impacts of Physical and Sexual Abuse on their
physical, emotional, mental and spiritual lives
b) Provide a process/space to express and talk about these impacts
(committed and engaged community members only) on family, extended
family, relationships and the community
c) Create healing relationships through support groups for men, women
and youth (committed and engaged community members only), and
d) Focus on the creation of a long term community healing path created
by and for Mathias Colomb First Nation through support group sponsored
and guided community healing.
