Title: Mithwayatan Program

Project Description:
The Mithwayatan Program will first provide Survivors with skills and then take them into core survivor work.  This will ensure that Survivors can address core issues of physical and sexual abuse on their terms and have the necessary tools to help themselves and others.  The methods include:  ongoing consultation with Survivors to ensure programs reflect their needs and remain Survivor driven; workshops about the impacts of Residential Schools, grief, trauma and loss; Life Skills Coaches training; building of support networks; cultural programming through Elders; Survivor wellness planning; Inner Child therapy; a Community Wellness Conference;  establishment of Survivor Support Groups; Talking Circles; On the Land Healing Programs; and Elders involvement in teaching.
