Title: Restoring Balance
Project Description:
The project will continue to provide Group and Individual Traditional
Healing and Counselling sessions, Sharing Circles, Pipe Ceremonies,
Sweat Lodge Ceremonies and other ceremonies for Residential School
Survivors and their families. A culturally appropriate environment is
available as well as the support required during the healing process.
A database is utilized and case studies are being developed from
information provided by the clients. As a result, relevant information
is available and can be shared with other agencies and projects so they
can apply the more significant healing methods to their programs is
they so desire.
Goals:
1. To continue assisting Residential School Survivors and their families who have been traumatized by the physical and sexual abuse in the Residential School System
2. To provide on-going Healing Circles, Traditional Ceremonies, Group/Individual Traditional Healing and Counselling to Residential School Survivors and their families
3. To provide a secure and culturally appropriate environment for healing and to ensure continuity and availability of traditional ceremonies for Residential School Survivors and their families, and
4. To gather data for the development of case studies in order to effectively measure the results of Traditional healing and to ensure the healing and reconciliation provided to the clientele is adequate.
