Healing Through Our Ancient Teachings
Project Description:
This
project will provide Inner Child Healing Workshops (which encompasses
many areas of trauma and could include spiritual, mental, physical and
sexual abuse, abandonment, etc,). The Inner Child workshops will take
place simultaneously with Cultural ceremonies, Pipe ceremonies, Wiping
of The Tears ceremonies, Inipi (sweat lodge) ceremonies, Medicine Lodge
(Sun Dance) ceremonies.
Front
line Workers will become trained and certified in dealing with issues
such as Suicide Prevention/Intervention, Grief Work, Sexual Abuse, etc.
as they are the main people who will do the follow up work .
EXPECTED RESULTS
To
have community awareness of the abuses that occurred and may still be
occurring and to let them know that there is a way to heal.
Our cultural ways/identity is the key to the success we achieve in life.
It is our hope that the young people will become aware of their cultural heritage, which starts with language and ceremonies.
To have more training for our front line workers.
